Palestinian Ambassador Husam Zomlot, Bambos Charalambous MP and Labour Leader Keir Starmer at LFPME annual reception

On the 29th March LFPME held our annual reception with great attendance.

During this reception Julie Elliott MP, our chair, introduced the Palestinian Ambassador Husam Zomlot, who spoke about the importance of recognising the state of Palestine in order to get ‘closer to a peaceful two-state solution’. Watch the full video here:

We also heard from Keir Starmer, the Labour leader who talked about the shared principles of the Labour Party and its commitment to a two-state solution:

The evening was concluded with a speech from Bambos Charalambous MP who addressed the violation of international law that is being committed by Israel, and the need to have proper respect for international law:

Unfortunately, David Lammy MP was unable to attend, but sent in a video message addressing Palestinian sovereign rights. To watch his speech in full head to our Blogs through the Updates on our main page. Alternatively, you can click this link: David Lammy at annual LFPME reception – LFPME

The reception was a huge success and Julie Elliott MP led a brilliant discussion that brought together all members of the international community.
